I have connected to my 32 inch TV and it's great. Yes, sound is separate and I haven't investigated the connectors for it yet. I have just used the internal laptop speakers. UGH!

Yes, VGA only sends picture. You need to plug into the back of your sound card with a mini-phono plug and then plug into a sound amplifier and play the sound. If your TV set has an aux input, then your sound would go there. But using VGA only put ...

How are you connected to the TV? By HDMI cable? or RCA plugs and VGA? There is more configuration settings that may be required.

I recently purchased a Acer notebook and when it is connected to the tv I can get a picture but no sound.
To send the notebook to the Tv I rt click to go to graphic option. Then clock on output to Intel graphics cloning. The screen is the sent to the TV BUT no sound!
How to fix????
